An established main contractor is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager to support delivery of a 90m project comprising two high-rise residential tower blocks.
This is a senior role requiring a well-rounded HSE professional with the ability to combine site presence, technical knowledge, and leadership to drive performance across a complex construction environment.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of health, safety, environmental and quality systems, supporting operational teams while maintaining strong governance and compliance standards.
Provide expert HSE advice to project and operational teams
Support and enhance health, safety and environmental management systems aligned to ISO standards
Lead incident management, investigations, and reporting, ensuring timely resolution and learning
Monitor and measure HSE performance across site operations
Manage and maintain risk and opportunity processes, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place
Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, driving continuous improvement
Support planning and delivery of high-risk activities and pre-start workshops
Build effective relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders to influence safe behaviours
Lead and support third-party audits and accreditations
Ensure unsafe practices are addressed immediately and escalated appropriately
Support operational teams in closing out actions and embedding improvements
Essential:
Extensive experience in construction HSE (10+ years)
Strong knowledge of UK legislation, compliance, and ISO standards
Proven track record of incident management, risk mitigation, and safety improvement
Ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with site teams and subcontractors
Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable:
Experience on high-rise or large-scale developments
Experience working across multiple projects or complex schemes
Qualifications:
NEBOSH (or equivalent)
CSCS Card (Manager level)
65,000 - 75,000 basic salary
5,500 car allowance
Up to 400 per month travel allowance
25 days annual leave + bank holidays

Pension (3% employer / 5% employee, rising to 5% employer)
