LOCATION: 1 Chaseside, BH7 7DA, Bournemouth

WORKING HOURS: 40 HOURS PER WEEK

SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 17:00pm

PAY RATE: £15.50 PER HOUR

Overview of Job Description 

As a Cleaning Supervisor you will be responsible for all day-to-day aspects relating to the management and maintenance of the cleaning service on site. You will need to provide sufficient cover and allocate cleaning tasks during periods of staff absence or holidays, monitor cleaning operatives’ attendance, communicate any staffing issues immediately to your line manager and respond to all requests within a reasonable time frame as required.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To work with the team to maintain good standard of cleaning within the building

· To carry out quality audits. To delegate duties and prioritise tasks

· To make sure all holiday and sickness is covered

· To assist with the training of staff and carry out toolbox talk delivery

· To comply with the requirements of Health & Safety, other relevant legislation and premises policies

· To be able to keep an accurate record of the operatives contracted hours, material orders and holidays.

· To report any maintenance defects to the Operations Manager

· To always understand and observe ABM and Client site rules.

· To ensure that a high standard of personal hygiene is always maintained

· To wear protective clothing (PPE) as issued

· To observe all Company and Client statutory fire and safety regulations and to promote good safety habits and methods of work.

· To deal with any complaints that fall within the job holder’s duties and report these immediately to Operations Manager

· Respond and completing all reasonable requests from manager and help desk requests.

ESSENTIAL:

• Supervisory & cleaning experience essential.

• Ability to communicate at all levels, with good written and spoken English

• Strong customer care and leadership skills

• Must be a good leader, motivating and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Problem solving and time management skills desired

• Basic IT skills

• Ability to work to set schedules and on own initiative

• Flexible and proactive attitude essential • Understanding & knowledge of health and safety policies

• Needs to represent ABM values on site by being presentable, uniformed and helpful always

• Willing to go the extra mile

• Experience of co-ordinating a range of tasks and individuals

• Always Follow the Company Policies and procedures

• Ensure that Cleaning Operatives or visiting workers for whom they are responsible receive suitable induction training and information about emergency procedures.

• Ensure the necessary risk assessments have been done and the safety provisions relating to the work discussed with those doing it.

• Confirm that those under their supervision have received training appropriate to their needs and that safety considerations are integrated into this training

• Document and reporting of training given to Cleaning Operatives

• Ensure that the work environment and equipment are safe and well maintained

• Identify and correct hazardous conditions

• Investigate accidents or incidents and revise risk assessments where necessary

• Monitor compliance with risk assessments, enforce the control measures and stop anyone who fails to comply.

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.

· Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

· Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.

· Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.

Requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Candidates must be punctual, trustworthy and have a good eye for detail. As part of the recurityment vetting process for our client site all successful candidates will be required to complete a background veritication and undergo security checks, including criminal/credit checks prior to start date. (This process will be explained in more detail at interview stage).
