Colleague Stories

“Inclusion to me means that everyone is treated equally and with respect. That we are all welcome together at the company, regardless of our background, our sexuality, gender, disability, and we are all celebrated for what makes us, us. Inclusion is extremely important to me as a trans non-binary person, so that I feel welcomed into the company as the person I am and being able to celebrate Pride while at work was amazing!” (they/them)

“Inclusion to me means having a diverse team. Diversity is the key to positive and inclusive idea generation. It’s refreshing to work with a team that has members with different ethnicities, beliefs, and backgrounds and to work at a company that actively promotes this as a goal.”

“Inclusion to me means that we embrace all people irrespective of race, gender, disability or other. If it is encouraged and nurtured, it means that people can bring their whole authentic self to work and allow people to confidently do their best.”

Employee Testimonials

One Stop is a great place for internal progression, all teams / line managers across the business always push their colleague’s development. I started working in one of our stores in 2015 on a Saturday behind the till. I was supported by both my Store colleagues and SSC colleagues to progress to Store Manager pretty quickly. From Store Manager, I applied for a temporary secondment on an Epos Roll out Project in Technology. After my secondment was coming to an end, I was supported in moving over to the Tech Support Team for a permanent role, to which I’m now a Senior within. I would highly recommend One Stop as a place to work

Sasha Woods, Senior Support Tech

I have worked for One Stop for a total of 15 years on the Epos Helpdesk and in Store Support. It’s a great company to work for and I would have no hesitation in recommending it anyone looking for employment. I am happy to be part of the One Stop family.

Denise Downes, Store Support

I started One Stop as a Customer Service Assistant in 2014 and worked my way up to a Store Manager a couple of years later. I now work in the SSC (Head Office), as an Internal Communications Coordinator. Working for One Stop is great, as no two days are the same. I could be working towards helping stores launch an engaging colleague campaign with prizes one day, to creating documents and guides to teach our store colleagues something new the next. One Stop is a great way to progress and get the experience you need to move forward in Retail.

Luke Harkin, Store Communications Team

I joined the One Stop Supply Chain team in 2011, but have worked the last five years in the Store Support team. I really enjoy this job role as I feel that I make a positive difference to the store teams and help the stores to be able to give the best service to our customers.

John Donegan, Store Support

I started in store as a Customer Service Assistant in 2003, I then moved to the Store Support team. I enjoy being part of a team, assisting colleagues at the SSC, in stores and out in the field. I like coming in to work and feel that One Stop is a great company to work for.

Natalie Whitehouse, Store Support

I started with One Stop in 2019 as an externally recruited Store Manager. My area manager, fellow store managers and my store team were great at helping me and my store achieve our goals. After 2 years as a store manager, I wanted to join the Store Support Centre (Walsall) and specifically the People Team. I always felt encouraged and supported by One Stop to apply for roles that came up at the SSC as they always look to bring in-store knowledge to the support functions. One Stop is a great brand to work for if progression and opportunity are what you are interested in, here you will find exactly that!

Andy Brown, People Admin Lead

I joined the People Team at One Stop in April 2021, within my first 6 months I was given the opportunity to progress into an exciting new role. One Stop is a great place to work and cares about the development of its employees.

I started at Onestop working on the Retail Helpdesk in 2019, I have since moved to the Franchise team for a new challenge. Whether it be stores calling for assistance or dealing with colleagues, everybody is really positive and helpful and Onestop offers great opportunities for training and career development!
