Job Description - Mental Health Assistant (Learning Support Assistant) Reports to: SENDCo / Inclusion Manager Purpose of the Role To provide emotional, behavioural and learning support to students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to access education, improve wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with identified mental health and emotional wellbeing needs. Support students to develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive coping strategies. Work alongside teachers to help students engage in learning and achieve their potential. Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions.
