An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Primary Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering business delivering major transmission and distribution infrastructure projects across the UK. This role will focus on the design and delivery of HV/EHV substation projects up to 400kV, working as part of a highly skilled engineering team on complex and technically challenging schemes within the power sector. Key Responsibilities: Produce concept, preliminary and detailed primary design solutions for substations up to 400kV Develop and review general arrangement drawings, substation layouts and single line diagrams Carry out design calculations including busbar sizing, short circuit studies, cable sizing, lighting, lightning protection and switchroom calculations Prepare and review technical specifications and associated design documentation Conduct site surveys and liaise with project and construction teams Participate in hazard review...
