This includes improving recycling systems and local authority performance, simplifying recycling processes, tackling waste crime and litter, and managing infrastructure for non-recyclable waste. The team also leads on the future of landfill, energy from waste, and the wider future waste roadmap. A directorate-wide communications and commissions function sits within the team.
